Happy New Week!
In this week's Mmm, I talk about how in many meditation practices, a focused eye position helps to focus the mind. We know also that our calm, steady breath helps to quiet the body and mind. So when we put both of those body functions (eye movement and breath) together, we have solid practical tools to help quiet the mind during our regular meditation practice! In this meditation, we incorporate focused eyes (open or closed, whichever you prefer) and calm breath to help still the mind. Anytime during your day, check in with your breath. Are you breathing shallowly? Are you breathing rapidly? Are you breathing at all, or are you holding your breath? The breath pattern mirrors the mind pattern, so breathing is a great measuring tool for what's happening in the mind. We can then take even just a couple of minutes to regulate our breath-- for example, breathing in to the count of four, and breathing out to the count of four-- to help the mind, reduce stress, and think more clearly during our day. Thank you for sharing in this time with me! Take time each day to love yourself by keeping your meditation time each day! Your practice will support you and put you in the flow and peace of life! Best wishes for your week! Feel the Love, and I'll see you next Monday!
