You want to be a good parent, but have found out that it’s not as easy and natural as it seemed before your little ones came into this world. Especially in our world today, with social isolation and online school.

A friend of mine once said:
“I love being a mom...I hate being a parent!”

She loved sharing fun, hugs, curiosity, and awe with her children, but not the more challenging discipline of the job. I think most parents can relate with that feeling!

How do you incorporate discipline into your parenting without crushing a child’s spirit?

How do you teach respect and responsibility and still enjoy being around your child?

How will your child learn to think wisely for themselves as they grow and face the challenges of living as an adult in the world?

I’m Lynn Barrette, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Spiritual Counselor, and Parent Coach. I am an Independent Facilitator for “Parenting the Love and Logic Way”, a six-module parenting course that offers bottom line tools to help you incorporate a positive, practical perspective into loving and parenting your child!

I first learned about Love and Logic, 20 years ago when a friend invited me to come with her to a parenting course called “Becoming a Love and Logic Parent”. I said yes, of course, because I was sure she need company—not because I needed a parenting class. Doh! My oldest was four years old, and I was pregnant with my second. Little did I realize how that four year old was running my household and peace of mind!

You see, my husband at the time and I were excellent parents. We were consistent, open yet firm, and used spanking only in certain circumstances, and out of discipline, not anger.

            SPANKING???

Yes, we were spankers of the minimalist type, but spankers all the same.

Halfway through my first Love and Logic class, I had an opportunity to try some of my new skills instead of my old spanking go-to. It was brilliantly effective! So effective, in fact, that I remember in great detail that day that marked me as never, ever spanking my children again.

Which also took a lot of the heavy burden of “mom-guilt” out of my daily parenting life as well! Totally worth every moment I spent in class and practicing at home!

I took that same class several more times before starting to teach it myself, which helped me even more to continue to learn and refresh my skills as my children grew and had ever-evolving needs from me.

Now, I’ve been teaching “Parenting the Love and Logic Way” for over 10 years, and love sharing it with am many parents as will listen!

Feedback I’ve received:
  • “I can’t believe this works so well! It’s so simple and no-nonsense. I thought I had to work so much harder to be a parent, when what I really needed to do was less talking and more clarity! Thank you!”
  • “Lynn is a fun coach, and helped me see that if I want my kids to cooperate, I have to adjust my approach. These skills are simple, clear, and easy to put to work right away.”
  • “This is my second time taking this class. I have loved Love and Logic with my kids! I have learned to have fun with my kids, not just saying no all the time! Lynn’s personal experience as a parent makes the techniques relatable.”

So what’s included in this online series?

All the fundamental techniques you will ever need as a parent!

Each module is set up with videos, examples, and one or more practical skills to practice until the next module.

This is the best way to learn: Learn a skill or two, practice like crazy, then on to the next few skills! Practice makes permanent!

You can also register for six small-group or one-on-one parent coaching sessions along with the class! More on that later.

4. Session Four: Avoiding Power-Struggles

Participants will learn:

  • What to do when children refuse to own and solve their problems

6. Session Six: Teaching Kids to Complete Chores without Reminders and Without Pay

Participants will learn:
  • The connection between chores, responsibility, self-esteem and academic achievement motivation
  • Practical tips for encouraging children to complete chores through the use of positive noticing, family teamwork and the establishment of a family focus based on serving others

It takes time, practice, patience, and support to learn new skills!

I took this class several times to help me assimilate all that I learned into my parenting style. I had friends who also took the class that I could collaborate with to make sure I was proceeding "the Love and Logic Way" with my kids when those unavoidable tricky situations popped up. That support beyond just the class was the key that helped me continue to work with the skills once class was done.

Even just integrating some of the basic skills took practice, and I was so glad I had friends to support me! It takes a village sometimes, doesn't it?

You can have that extra support and practice one-on-one or in a small group (just a few other parents with you!) when you purchase one of the bonus support options:

Class with Six Extra Small Group Support Sessions:
You will be part of six, one hour, small group coaching session with a few other parents for six sessions beyond the six-session class! You can bring your struggles and successes to each group time and learn with other parents how to hone the skills learned in "Parenting the Love and Logic Way" webinar. Lynn will personally guide and offer tips for integrating your new tools with your children. Every child is different, and every parent needs back up! Join other parents who are honing their skills just like you!  This option is now $359, down from $599!

That's less than $60 per support session, and the class and Parent Handbook are included FREE!

Need even more individualized support with your children? This option gives you six individual, one hour parent coaching sessions with Lynn as she listens to your unique family situation and guides you in integrating your new skills with your children. Each session will focus on the needs you bring to the table, and give you ways to work with "Parenting the Love and Logic Way" skills more successfully. Sessions expire six months after the broadcast date of the sixth and final webinar session.

This individualized support isn't offered by other parenting coaches. You'd get grouped into hundreds of other parents all trying to sort through a vast amount of information and input, looking for that one piece of information that might apply to your need of the moment.

That's a lot of time and effort to help you with a parenting need when you're feeling frustrated with hands full of kids!

These individual sessions will zero in on problem areas that come up regularly in your particular home, as well as working with the unexpected issues that naturally arise while raising children! This option is now $899, down from  $1199

That is less than the typical fee of $150 per individualized session, and offered within the first six months after the end of class, so you can be practicing while the class information is still fresh! Class and Parent Handbook are FREE in this option as well!

"Parenting the Love and Logic Way" skills last a lifetime -- child, teen, emerging adult, and adulthood! Because, once a parent, always a parent...

Isn't it worth the effort now?
